Dunne Supports Railway Guardian App

British Transport Police (BTP) first launched the Railway Guardian app in July 2022, through their #SpeakUpInterrupt campaign, which is part of an ongoing commitment to tackling violence against women and girls on the rail network.

According to BTP, not only does the app encourage reporting of crimes, including unwanted sexual behaviour, but it also includes content aimed at encouraging positive behavioural change by providing advice on what is acceptable.

South Shropshire MP, Philip Dunne has encouraged people to download the app. He said:

“Everyone should be able to travel on public transport without fear of harassment or violence, but all too often this is still not the case. The Railway Guardian app is a great way to report concerns or crime and bring about positive change on our railways so that everyone can feel safe when travelling by train.”
