The shooting of an 11-year-old boy in Liverpool last week has highlighted the barbaric subculture infecting much of urban Britain.

Watching the poor boy's parents come to terms with their grief has made all those responsible for children fear for their safety.

But sadly, as David Cameron pointed out last Friday, many parents have lost control of their teenagers.

The eighteenth young victim of gun or knife crime in Britain so far this year, has also been a chilling reminder of how violent crime has doubled in the past 10 years. Shropshire has not been immune, with gun and knife crime rising.
