Nominations Open for BBC Radio Shropshire Make a Difference Awards

Dunne encourages local residents in South Shropshire to nominate their friends, family and neighbours who actively contribute to the local community.

Following on from last year’s successful BBC Radio Shropshire “Make a Difference” Awards nominations are now open for this year.

The awards celebrate and recognise the contributions and stories of local people who go above and beyond in helping others all year round.

The awards showcase our communities at their best, highlighting positive actions within Shropshire. The awards have eight different categories including Volunteer, Great Neighbour, Carer, Community Group, Fundraiser, Bravery, Green Award, and the Together Award.

Do you know someone deserving of recognition? If so please fill out this short nomination form here.

Commenting on the awards South Shropshire MP Philip Dunne said:

“Last year it was great to see so many South Shropshire champions being nominated and recognised for their contribution to our community.

“During my travels around each corner of the constituency I get to meet so many selfless people inspiring others and working tirelessly to help those in need. These awards allow us to demonstrate and celebrate our appreciation of those unsung heroes.

I am encouraging local residents to nominate someone deserving from their community. The nominations process could not be simpler or easier. I look forward to hearing the stories of those who are nominated and of course the winners”.
