Philip Dunne MP has lent his support to the appeal by the Assembly Rooms in Ludlow for new seating. He is one of the first to respond positively to the appeal launched this week for members of the public to sponsor a seat.

Mr Dunne said today: "As a friend of the Assembly Rooms I am very willing to help in this campaign to fund new seating for the auditorium. I know there have been plans for new seating for some years, it is good news to see this now taking a big step forward.

I and my family enjoy attending events and film screenings in the main auditorium from time to time. So many people in the town and surrounding area are involved in helping to keep the Assembly Rooms such a vibrant arts venue. I am pleased to be able to join in supporting their efforts for the benefit of the whole community."
