Mr Dunne said: "Again this year I set out to use my Christmas card to try to raise money for charity. I am very pleased with the response and am most grateful to all who sponsored the card.

I organised a competition to design the card amongst Year 7 and 8 pupils in secondary schools in the Ludlow constituency, so it seemed quite right that a local charity should benefit from the sponsorship we raised. I have visited Severn Hospice and seen for myself the marvellous work it does, relying for most of its funding on voluntary donations."

Mr Dunne's card was designed by Ben Howman, now in year 8 in Lacon Childe School, Cleobury Mortimer.
