Philip Dunne applauded success of community groups in South Shropshire in securing the Awards for All programme.Philip Dunne MP applauded success of community groups in South Shropshire in securing the Awards for All programme. The programme awards lottery grants for local groups. In the latest round of awards, projects in the Ludlow constituency have scooped over £46,000 out of a total £512,000 awarded to the whole of the West Midlands.

Mr Dunne said "I have raised my concerns that the Lottery has not given its fair share to rural areas. Well someone seems to have been paying attention, since South Shropshire has done particularly well in this latest round of awards to community projects. It is a tribute to the enthusiasm and enterprise of our local community groups.

I encourage all local groups seeking funding to visit the website www.awardsforall.org.uk to see the type of projects this programme helps to fund. Those benefiting from the latest awards include the Worthen & Brockton Bowling Club to help purchase a new watering system for their green; Ludlow Town Football Club to renovate two pitches previously unusable; and SCRAPPIES who promote recycling by running arts and craft workshops for children and their families in South Shropshire."
