Ben Howman, 14, a pupil at Lacon Childe School in Cleobury Mortimer, won local MP Philip Dunne's Christmas card competition.

Mr Dunne visited the school last week to congratulate Ben and present him with a prize and sample of the card. He also had prizes for the runners-up in the school and certificates for all year 8 pupils who had submitted entries to his competition last term.

Mr Dunne said: "I was very pleased with the entries to design my Christmas card this year. Ben made a lively seasonal collage which stood out from the others.

Lacon Childe School will receive 1,000 spare cards, which I hope the PTA can sell to raise funds for the school."

Philip Dunne's Christmas card has been sponsored by local businesses and he will be making a matching donation to Severn Hospice.
