Ludlow Conservatives' Patrons Club welcomed Julie Kirkbride MP for Bromsgrove to a reception at Mawley Hall near Cleobury Mortimer on Friday evening.

Julie Kirkbride is one of the Conservatives' most high profile women in Parliament. She has recently left the front bench where she held the Shadow Culture, Media and Sport brief.

Mrs Kirkbride said: "I was keen to come to the Ludlow constituency to support Philip Dunne's efforts to recapture Ludlow for the Conservatives. He is an excellent candidate who will bring real experience to the House of Commons. I know he is working hard in the constituency and is getting help from many people who are determined to get rid of this Government."

Philip Dunne said today: "Julie Kirkbride inspired us to look forward to the coming election with confidence. She pointed out there is everything to play for. The Labour Government is distrusted. Conservatives are due to emerge from the party conference next month boosted ahead of the election. Many people told me how fed up they are that the Government is not listening to people in rural areas. They know the only way to get rid of this Government will be to vote Conservative."
