Dunne welcomes new Highley Medical Practice in the Severn Centre

Local MP Philip Dunne was on hand on Saturday to join Highley residents welcoming the formal opening of the Highley Medical Practice at the Halo Severn Centre.  This forms the core element of an enhanced Health & Wellbeing Centre in Highley to improve potential access for Highley residents to a wider range of services provided by Bridgnorth Medical Practice, other NHS services and Shropshire Council’s social prescribing and wellbeing services.

Mr Dunne said:

“I have been calling for Highley to have a fit for purpose medical centre for over a decade and saw the opportunity when the previous surgery went into special measures some two years ago to help bring this about.   So I was really delighted to join all those who have played such a key part in getting this significant investment into creating a new medical centre in the Halo Severn Centre.

This anchors the Severn Centre with its excellent parking and leisure facilities in the heart of the village for decades to come.

My thanks in particular to Dr Jess Harvey for leading this initiative alongside Dr Aaron Tindall and colleagues from the Highley and the Bridgnorth Medical Practices, Cllr Cecilia Motley and the team at Shropshire Council as well as NHS ICB staff, and the team at Halo Severn Centre under Chief Executive Scott Rolfe who helped drive this project through.”
