Dunne welcomes Cost of Living Payment

South Shropshire MP Philip Dunne welcomes the £150 Disability Cost of Living Payment scheme being paid by the government.

This scheme aims to provide essential financial support to disabled individuals across the UK who face additional costs due to their disabilities. The payment will be made automatically over a two-week period, from 20th June to 4th July 2023.

The Department for Work and Pensions will issue these one-off payments to more than six million disabled people, underscoring the government's commitment to supporting those most in need.

The Disability Cost of Living Payment is part of a broader package of Cost-of-Living support, which can provide up to £1,350 of assistance to the most vulnerable households.

Philip Dunne said

“We must ensure that the most vulnerable members of our community receive the support they need during the current cost of living pressures.

The £150 Disability Cost of Living Payment will help alleviate the financial burdens faced by disabled individuals and contribute to enhancing their quality of life.

I strongly encourage eligible individuals in South Shropshire to apply for this scheme if they are on means-tested disability benefits.”
