Mr Dunne answered questions about his job as Member of Parliament and told the pupils about how he tries to help local residents through his regular advice surgeries - they were amused to learn these sometimes take place in his converted campervan.

The pupils also brought to Mr Dunne's attention problems from piles of rubbish blowing against their fence from the adjacent Birchmeadow fields.

Mr Dunne said: "I was very impressed with the quality of questions the children asked and was delighted they took such a genuine interest in the work of a Member of Parliament. They also highlighted a particular problem which I have promised to take up on their behalf."
