Dunne thanks Alveley GP for booster effort

Philip Dunne MP has thanked staff at Alveley Medical Practice for their extraordinary effort to roll out the covid booster jab to local patients.

Alveley Medical Practice will have offered a vaccine booster to all their patients by Sunday 19th December. This has been achieved by the extraordinary efforts of local GPs, who have undertaken clinics in their own time for the past two months.

On Sunday they will undertake a mass clinic for 360 people, helped out by volunteers and two vaccinators from Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service. They will also begin assisting other local practices with their vaccinations.

Mr Dunne said:

“I am hugely impressed by the commitment of the Alveley Medical Practice team to securing the safety of their patients during the continued pressure from the latest Omicron variant of this terrible pandemic. The extraordinary lengths gone to by the Dr Riley and Dr Abbotts, giving up their own time to keep the community safe and reduce stress on their staff, is exemplary – as is the dedication of the practice manager, Lindsey Clark, who has helped run clinics despite being on maternity leave with an 8 week old baby! I am immensely grateful for their hard work, and thank them on behalf of the local community.”
