Philip Dunne has agreed to support Morville's St Gregory the Great Church appeal to restore its church bells.Philip Dunne MP has agreed to support Morville's St Gregory the Great Church appeal to restore its church bells.

Mr Dunne has become a Patron of the appeal which needs to raise over £35,000 to build a new frame to house the six bells in the church tower.

Rev Hugh Patterson said: "the bells themselves were installed in Morville church in 1789 and have not rung in unison for 54 years. The local community have been magnificent in rallying round and we have a keen team of bell ringers learning how to do it. I am pleased our MP is willing to support our efforts."

Mr Dunne added: "I met the Bishops of Hereford and Ludlow last week in the House of Commons and raised with them the challenge of maintaining the heritage assets which the Church has in abundance in the Ludlow constituency. I said I would do what I could, so when asked by Morville residents to help get their bells ringing again, I am pleased to lend my support. I look forward to a lesson once the restoration is complete."
