Ludlow's Conservative MP Philip Dunne is writing to 36,000 voters to ask who they want as the next Labour leader and Prime Minister.

The survey follows his unprecedented move last year when he polled his electorate over the Conservative leadership election. That produced a staggering response when nearly 7,000 people - far more than the average commercial opinion poll - overwhelmingly backed David Cameron for the top Tory job.

Mr Dunne said today: "I hope as many people as possible will let me know their views so I can represent all voters, irrespective of political party. I want to understand what local and national issues are most relevant to my constituents. Last year 7,000 people told me what concerned them and who they thought should lead the Conservative Party.

This year I would like to know who they think should lead the Labour Party and when the Prime Minister should go."
