Ludlow MP Philip Dunne today published the results of a survey he has undertaken of all 36 dentists in the Ludlow constituency.

Findings suggest the majority of dentists are concerned that the new NHS dental contract will lead to deteriorating dental hygiene. 60% of those who replied say that they believe dental health will get worse.

Mr Dunne said today "This is clear evidence of yet another bungled NHS contract imposed by government on dentists, most of whom have signed up to the contract with severe misgivings. There is already a shortage of NHS dentists in Shropshire, my fear is that the new contract will limit the expansion of existing practices and may drive more dentists into purely private practice."
