"I deeply regret that the County Council's cabinet has decided to proceed with this policy. I understand the difficulties it faces due to Government under-funding, but the education of our children should be their top priority.

We have excellent rural primary schools which play a vital role in maintaining vibrant community life in our villages.

I shall campaign to save our schools in the Ludlow constituency."
