Philip Dunne MP is supporting local volunteers Carole Wadsworth and Caroline Holmes, whose Craven Arms Diabetes UK Group are organising a sponsored Walk in the Park in aid of Diabetes UK.

This event will take place at the Secret Hills Discovery Centre in craven Arms on Sunday 25th June between 10.30 am and 2.30 pm. The walk along the riverside will cover approximately 2 miles, with a shorter walk around Onny Meadows, suitable for disabled and lesser able-bodied people who want to take part and be sponsored.

Philip Dunne said: "I am delighted to encourage people to support this sponsored walk in aid of such a good cause. Diabetes UK does an enormous amount to help people cope with this disease so they can lead active lives. I hope as many people as possible turn out to take part in the walk, to help raise funds for research into a cure for diabetes."

Carole Wadsworth commented: "We are delighted to gain the support of our MP for this walk, which we hope will raise a good sum for Diabetes UK and also draw attention to all the work the charity does for diabetes sufferers."
