South Shropshire MP Philip Dunne is organising a Jobs Fair in Bridgnorth to help more local people find employment.
The event will take place on Monday 15th April, with displays from local employers with vacancies and training opportunities to fill. The event will be free, and will be run in conjunction with the Jobcentre Plus, to ensure the widest possible support is available.
The Jobs Fair will take place at the Community Hall in Low Town, Bridgnorth on Monday 15th April 2019, from 10am—2pm.
Exhibitors already signed up to display at the event include Grainger & Worrall, Coverage Care, Shropshire Council, Home Instead, Marches Centre for Manufacturing Technology, Juniper, SNG Barratt, Bradeney Care, Royal Navy, Nova Training, Morris Care, National Careers Service, and Recruit4Staff.
Mr Dunne said:
“While the number of people relying on Jobseekers Allowance or Universal Credit is down significantly since 2010, there has been an increase in claimants locally in recent months. But I know from speaking to local employers that there are vacancies to fill, so I am arranging another Jobs Fair in Bridgnorth, to bring employers and jobseekers together in one convenient location.
If you are looking for work, either full or part time, or an apprenticeship or training, I encourage you to attend and see what is on offer. I would also encourage employers with roles to fill wishing to display to contact me, so they can reach as many potential candidates as possible. As well as companies and training providers exhibiting, smaller employers can promote individual jobs on offer on a Jobs Board.”
Ben Vaughan, Shropshire Employer Adviser Manager at Jobcentre Plus, said:
“It’s great to see so many of our local employers, partners and providers in Shropshire commit to attending this job fair and supporting the people of Bridgnorth and the surrounding areas to find work. If you would any more information with regards the event, please feel free to pop into our local Jobcentre Plus Office in Bridgnorth”
