Philip Dunne MP visited local residential care home Hendra House in Ludlow to congratulate staff on consistent outstanding success in recent years.
Hendra House was recently awarded Gold in the Investors in People accreditation scheme. This followed winning Care Employer of the Year at the 2018 Caring UK national awards.
It was also voted Best Care Home in Shropshire at the carehome.co.uk awards 2018, for the second year in a row.
The care home, which has 28 residents and 38 members of staff, was rated Outstanding by the CQC in October 2017 for the second time - the first care home in the West Midlands to achieve Outstanding rating.
Mr Dunne said: “Hendra House has had remarkable success and recognition in national awards in recent years, thanks to the hard work of staff and management. So it was great to be able to visit and congratulate the team, and to see for myself how staff are being supported with further training to continue to improve the care offered to residents.
It is no surprise that with this consistent success there is waiting list for both staff and residential places – and such excellence can only serve to set the benchmark for care provision in South Shropshire.”
