Tiffin Cup 2010

The Tiffin Cup is an annual competition to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country, it is now into its 5th year and MPs have once again been asked to nominate a restaurant in their constituency to compete for this prestigious award.

The competition, run by the Tiffin Club of MPs, aims not only to celebrate the quality of South Asian food in Britain, but also to raise much needed money for charity. This year’s event will be raising money in support of the charity ‘World Vision’ which works globally to speak out for children and communities affected by poverty and injustice.

Philip Dunne MP has supported this worthwhile competition before, and in 2007 Much Wenlock’s Bilash restaurant received a clear majority of nominations in the Ludlow Constituency, joining other winners at the Tiffin Cup launch at the Moti Mahal restaurant in Covent Garden.

Constituency winners this year will be invited to a special ‘cook-off’ in London, where an overall champion will then be chosen.

Nominations for the Ludlow Constituency can be sent by email to recommend a South Asian restaurant, stating your name and address and the name and address of the restaurant you wish to nominate to dunnep@parliament.uk or writing to Philip Dunne MP at 54 Broad Street, Ludlow SY8 1GP by 30th July 2010.

Philip Dunne said: "We have some great South Asian restaurants in the constituency and I urge any who are interested to have the chance to show their culinary skills to their peers across the country to encourage their customers to nominate them for the Tiffin Cup 2010.'
