South Shropshire Farmers hold Great Farmhouse Breakfast

Philip Dunne, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Ludlow, was the guest of Ludlow NFU Branch members at a Great Farmhouse Breakfast held last Friday at the home of Tim & Margaret Whiteman.

Also present was Tony Pike CBE, National Chairman of the Home Grown Cereals Authority, the body responsible for organising over 600 similar events across the country last week. Philip Dunne said "Margaret Whiteman cooked a magnificent, very full English breakfast - a real treat for us all. I was delighted to support this effort to promote British home grown produce. We had delicious cereals, eggs, bacon and sausages all from local producers. Thanks particularly to Griffiths Butchers and Orleton Farm Shop. Supporting British producers is the key to this campaign. We are fortunate in this area to have some outstanding local produce. We had an interesting discussion about issues facing local producers with the outcome of the mid term CAP review."
