Dunne urges local residents to visit Flood Fair

Local MP Philip Dunne who set up Much Wenlock Flood Forum which he chairs, today urged local people concerned about the risk of flooding in Much Wenlock to come to the Flood Fair this Saturday.

The Flood Fair is being organised by Shropshire Council and held at William Brookes School from [12 noon until 5pm] on Saturday 27th February. It is a drop-in event with displays of the work done since the floods of summer 2007 and officials on hand to explain what further issues need to be addressed. The Environment Agency, Severn Trent and others, offering flood mitigation services will be present.

Mr Dunne said today: "This is a good opportunity for residents of Much Wenlock and its surrounding catchment to find out what work has been done to identify the issues surrounding flooding in the town, and along the Farley brook, and what needs to be done to mitigate the risks of future flooding. I urge those who are interested to call in at William Brookes school on Saturday to look at the information available and chat to those who are helping with the Flood Forum."
