Dunne congratulates Bishops Castle's National Environmental Award Winners
The Household Energy Service run by the Light Foot Enterprises Community Interest Company in Bishops Castle today were announced as one of three winners of The Big Green Challenge. This is a nationwide competition launched by NESTA in 2007 to promote community innovation in challenging climate change.
Mr Dunne said: "I am absolutely delighted that the Bishops Castle HES has won this highly prestigious national award. It is a great tribute to four years of hard work an innovation by many people especially the 50 volunteers who form the backbone of HES's work in Bishops Castle and surrounding communities. The prize of £300,000 will make a huge difference to HES's ability to deliver their service further afield in South Shropshire. I could not be more pleased for them."
